Govt. ETEI Tudigadia is one of the oldest teachers training institutions of Odisha. It was established in the year 1949 in the name of Basic Training institutions. Basic training to fulfill the lively hood was the main motto at that time. To fulfill the trained teachers in elementary Schools of post independent Odisha on dt 01.03.1969 it’s name was changed to C.T (Certified Teacher). Initially only the untrained teachers of elementary Schools were getting training in this institution. Later on 50% in-service and 50% preserve teachers got trained with a total of 50 students per year. To universalize elementary education the government of Odisha took the initiative of an established large number of primary schools .So the intake capacity of this ins detitution increased to 100 and the name of the course changed as D.El.Ed ( Diploma in Elementary teachers training institution) in the year 2014. Inspite of these various in-service teachers training is also going on in the name of NIOS and DEP.
